I KNOW EVERYTHING BUT YOU

I can know the plants to the very cell,
The very systems that produce such beauty.
I can know the animals,
Individual and social behaviors
That provide many answers
Yet remain so mysterious.
I can know the clouds and the stars,
Even the very nature of man.
All these things can be studied
And understood in the most minute.

But I cannot know you,
I am not skilled in testing these waters,
Nor fond of it in the least.
It is so much easier to remain ignorant.
Yet, I want nothing more
Than to experience and understand
Everything about you,
Something so simple, yet forbidden.
